Dynamo is a list based, very simple and compact content management system, written in Perl.
|What you can easily do with Dynamo:
Blog, photo album, file list, content management system, forum, image database, online voting, online marketplace, contact forms with database, news feed, article database, guestbook, calendar, online shop, inscription/booking system, music collection, link collection, HTML editor, organizing chart, task or to-do list, bug-tracker, multilingual website, RSS feed, data backend for AJAX, dynamic geo application and much more.
The idea of Dynamo lies in a strict separation of your website into data and layout. Take the website you're watching for example: It provides around 300 different pages, but due to its implementation with Dynamo it consists of only 1 simple HTML file and 3 lists (text files).
Although I wrote the original program already some time ago in 2003, I still keep it up-to-date now in 2009 because it has surprisingly found more applications than it was originally supposed to serve for. And it still plays very nicely also with modern web technologies such as AJAX, blogs & news feeds, and geo applications. Dynamo can completely replace a relational database (if your application is note extremely power demanding), and is much easier to handle. The list data format can easily be imported or exported as it is just plain text based.
